Hundreds of dogs seized from puppy mill, site of PA's largest animal raid June 24

On Tuesday afternoon, June 23rd, Almost Heaven Kennels LLC in Emmaus, Lehigh County was permanently closed and 250 dogs were removed due to deplorable puppy mill conditions.  The dogs will be placed in a temporary emergency shelter on the grounds of the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex & Expo Center in Harrisburg and eventually placed in rescues and shelters throughout Pennsylvania for adoption.   In October 2008 hundreds of dogs were removed from this same property because of serious medical conditions.  The October raid was the biggest animal raid in Pennsylvania’s history.
